The Audition Experience

​

At Midland Youth Ballet, we believe the audition experience should be an enjoyable and inspiring opportunity for young dancers to gain confidence, develop performance skills and experience the enjoyment of performing.

​

No previous dance experience is necessary, and no preparation is required before attending the audition. Our auditions are designed to be welcoming, encouraging and suitable for dancers of all abilities.

Many former Midland Youth Ballet members have gone on to train and perform professionally with both national and international ballet and commercial dance companies.

 

Audition Day

​

• Students should wear their usual dance class uniform, with hair presented as for a ballet or dance examination.

• Audition Age Groups: Juniors 7–11 years | Seniors 12–17 years.

• Senior dancers who already train en pointe should bring their pointe shoes.

• Upon arrival, students will be allocated an audition number and parents and students will be shown to the waiting area.

• Students will then be escorted into the studio or theatre for their audition.

• Filming and photography are strictly prohibited throughout the audition.

 

Audition Results

Parents and students will be notified of the audition outcome on the day of the audition.
Following the audition, constructive individual feedback is available to parents on request.

 

Following a Successful Audition

​

• Successful students will receive an Acceptance Form and Rehearsal Schedule.

• Students must be available to attend all rehearsals and performances unless exceptional circumstances arise.

 

Course Fees

​

Course fee: £350 payable in full by the date stated in the acceptance email.

Payment plans are available:

• 2 monthly payments of £175, commencing two months prior to the first rehearsal.

• 4 monthly payments of £87.50, commencing four months prior to the first rehearsal.
